Red
Inks:
Jansen
Rot (Red): Very light washed out "ordinary"
red.(bottled ink only)
Montblanc
Rubinrot (Ruby Red): Similar to Jansen Red (cartridge
and bottled ink)
Lamy
Rot (Red): Slightly more orange than Jansen & Montblanc;
appears slightly more (cartridge and bottled ink) intense, too.
Omas
Hong Kong Rot (Hong Kong Red) : Limited production ink,
bright red with just a touch of orange (cartridge and bottled
ink) with better intensity than Lamy, MB or Jansen.
Parker
Quink Red : Unique medium red, maybe the most basic red
without orange or pink (cartridge and bottled ink) shades.
Waterman
Red: Intense bright red with orange touch. Darker than
Omas H.K. Red, but (cartridge and bottled ink) it is said
to come in different color variations.
W.B.P.(Waltraud
Bethge Papiere) Cool Colors Altrosa VII (Dusky Pink) :
More of a bright red with a "lobster" color to pink
touch. (bottled ink only) Depends a lot on the pen/nib you
use. (Has an almost unnoticable touch of pink when used with
a broad nip which does not write too "wet"; Unique
color.)
Jansen
Feuerrot (Firered) : Nice medium towards cherry red. Good
color and intensity. (bottled ink only)
Private
Resrve Candy Apple: Nice vivid and intnse medium red (does
not mix with other inks!!!!). (bottled ink only)
Sheaffer
Red: Unique slightly washed out cherry red with visable
pink tones; better color when (cartridge and bottled ink)
using a nip with very good/wet flow (less pink)
Pelikan
Kirschrot (Cherry Red): Similar to Sheaffer Red in terms
of color, but darker and not as wahed (cartridge only, discontinued)
out.
Herbin
Fuchsia: Maybe the same ink as Omas A.V. Red because Herbin
is said to produce inks (cartridge and bottled ink) for Omas.
From my experience the color comes out of the cartridge slightly
more faded (maybe it's because it's a cartridge, most Herbin
colors from cartridges start with a faded look). Color itself
is a nice warm medium to dark red.
Herbin
Opera: Scented version of the Fuchsia Red (cartridge only)
Omas
Americo Vespucci Red: This color (and the Omas pen going
with it) is named after an Italian (bottled ink only) navy
ship. The sailing vessel is said to be one of the most beautiful
sailing ships nowadays and the color reembles the color of
the wood used for the ships interior. Very nice medium to
dark red with very good color intensity, but not the best
flow in some pens. Might be the most beautiful red for serious
writing.
Rotring
Rot (Red): Very similar to Omas A.V. Red
(cartridge and bottled ink)

Burgundy
INK:
Montblanc Bordeaux: Dark bordeaux (dark red) color
with washed out look (cartridge and bottled ink)
Parker
Penman Ruby: Similar to MB but slightly darker and a little
more brown tones. (cartridge and bottled ink)
Jansen
Dunkelrot (Dark Red): Unique intense brownish color (oxblood
?), but pretty "thick" ink, so (bottled ink only)
flow is not the best in most pens.
Sheaffer
Burgundy: Is more a purplish dark red (aubergine) color;
burgundy, so very unique and nice (cartridge and bottled ink)
(may only compare to French Parker Quink Pemanent Violett).
I have
not tried:
